Granite Construction Company (Granite) is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms for the following project & items of work, including but not limited to the items listed below.

General work description:           Reconstruction of Griffith Ave, 7th Street to Poso Drive.  Work consists of sawcutting, cold-planing 3: existing asphalt concrete, minor concrete including demo, sidewalks/curb & gutter, drive approaches, curb ramps, adjusting utility frame covers to grade, storm drain relocation and striping.

 

The following items of work are requested, including but not limited to:

C0639 - ASPHALT SUPPLIER(BULK ITEM), C0651 - CONCRETE & CEMENT SUPPLIER(BULK ITEM), C0671 - DRAINAGE SYSTEMS SUPPLIER, C1200 - CONSTRUCTION AREA SIGNS, C1201 - TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM, C1522 - RESET, ADJUST ROADWAY ITEMS, C1531 - PLANE ASPHALT CONCRETE, C4010 - PORTLAND CEMENT & CONCRETE PAVEMENT, C5105 - MINOR CONCRETE STRUCTURE, C6500 - REINFORCED CONCRETE PIPE, C7191 - SEWER MANHOLE, C8406 - PAINTED TRAFFIC STRIPING & MARKING, C9606 - WATER TRUCK, C9905 - CUTTING

 

Info:

Quotations will be broken down into comparable packages as reasonably necessary.  Granite will work with interested subcontractors to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages.

 

Granite is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, and Carpenters Unions.  100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of the subcontract price.  Granite may assist with the bond premium up to 1.5%.  Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement.  A copy of the insurance requirements and agreements can be obtained by contacting the Estimator.

For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015 and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, the following registration requirements apply:  Every Subcontractor is required to be registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Public Contract Code (“Section 1725.5”).  No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal pursuant to Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.  No bid shall be accepted nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the Subcontractor’s current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.
