Granite Construction Company (Granite) is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms for the following project.

Description                  Mammoth Yosemite Airport;  reconstruction of General Aviation Aircraft Parking Apron A3 (20,000sq. yd.) and portion of General Aviation Aircraft Parking Apron A2 (850 sq. yd.) including grading, drainage, paving, marking, floodlighting, and tie downs at the Mammoth Yosemite Airport.

DBE Goal                     9.5%

 

The following items of work are requested, including but not limited to:

ITEM P-148 STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP), ITEM P-156 TEMPORARY AIR AND WATER POLLUTION, SOIL EROSION, AND SILTATION CONTROL, ITEM P-602 BITUMINOUS PRIME COAT, ITEM P-603 BITUMINOUS TACK COAT, ITEM P-610 STRUCTURAL PORTLAND CEMENT CONCRETE, ITEM P-620 RUNWAY AND TAXIWAY MARKING, ITEM L-100 LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL WORK, ITEM L-110 AIRPORT UNDERGROUND ELECTRICAL DUCT BANKS AND CONDUIT, ITEM L-127 FLOODLIGHTING, ITEM M-101 TIE DOWN ANCHORS, Asphalt/asphalt oil supplier, landscaping material supplier, concrete & cement supplier, construction area signs

 

Info:

Quotations will be broken down into comparable packages as reasonably necessary.  Granite will work with interested subcontractors to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages.

Requirements:

Granite is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, and Carpenters Unions.  100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of the subcontract price.  Granite may assist with the bond premium up to 1.5%.  Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement.  A copy of the insurance requirements and agreements can be obtained by contacting the Estimator.  Plans and specifications are available for viewing by contacting the Estimator, or our office located at 3005 James Road , Bakersfield , CA 93308 . 

 

For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015 and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, the following registration requirements apply:  Every Subcontractor is required to be registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Public Contract Code (“Section 1725.5”).  No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal pursuant to Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.  No bid shall be accepted nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the Subcontractor’s current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.
