Project Name: SR 58 Gap Closure from Cottonwood Road to SR 99
Project Description: Widening State Route 58 from four to six lanes by adding a lane in each direction within the existing median area approximately from 0.5 miles east of the Route 99 grade separation to the Cottonwood Road Overcrossing. The P Street under Cross (UC), Madison Street UC, Bakersfield Corral Overhead, and Cottonwood UC structures would require widening to allow for the additional lanes. The westbound on ramp from H Street would be widened to accommodate ramp metering. The ramp widening would require a retaining wall at the edge of shoulder.

Trades: Granite is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms for the following project & items of work, including but not limited to: asphalt oil, construction area signs, traffic control system, remove bridge items, MBGR, pavement markers, electrical and signals, traffic control, concrete and cement, construction staking, structure excavation and backfill, highway planting, hydro seeding, irrigation system, agg base, PCC and concrete pavement, pavement sub sealing, concrete structure, reinforcing steel, RCP, corrugated metal pipe, rock slope protection, fencing, concrete barrier, metal beam barrier, thermoplastic traffic stripe and marking, painted traffic stripe, signal and lighting, and ramp metering system. Quotations will be broken down into comparable packages as reasonably necessary.
Granite will work with interested subcontractors to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages.

Additional Info: Granite Construction Company is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of subcontract price. Granite will pay for bond premium up to 1.5%. Subcontracts must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and Worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreements can be obtained by contacting the Estimator.
