Description of Work: The Vallecito/Douglas Flat Wastewater Treatment Plant Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) and Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection Improvements project consists of the following:
Install Pre-Purchased Equipment: The packaged MBR treatment process tanks, equipment skids and loose shipped items shall be furnished by District and installed by Contractor. The list of process tanks and equipment to be furnished by Owner is being bid separately for equipment pre-purchase and is required to be reviewed by prospective bidders. All equipment and materials not specifically identified for pre-purchase are to be bother furnished and installed by Contractor. All process piping shall be furnished and installed by the Contractor as necessary to complete connections between separately shipped process tanks and equipment skids. The Contractor shall coordinate installation with manufacturer's fabrication and delivery schedule for the pre-purchased equipment.
Site Work: The Contractor shall prepare the site; remove/salvage the existing steel canopy and perform other demolition as shown on the project drawings; provide yard/site piping and drainage facilities; backfill existing drying beds to new subgrade level; provide reinforced concrete foundation slabs, walls and other miscellaneous concrete work; furnish and install steel canopies to cover equipment skids and sludge storage areas; provide new paving and paving overlays at end of project; and provide all other work as specified and/or shown on the project drawings.
Flow Equalization: The existing Vallecito aeration basin will be converted to a flow equalization basin. The Contractor shall remove aeration equipment inside the basin; clean, sandblast and recoat the basin; furnish and install new submersible pumps and mixer; construct the valve vault for pump discharge piping with valves, pipe supports, traffic rated cover, handrailing and other miscellaneous items. Furnish and install odor control equipment and basin cover as specified and/or shown on project drawings.
