is seeking quotes from certified DBE suppliers, subcontractors and
service providers for California Department of Transportation (CalTrans)
Contract No. 04-2G3624

This project is described as: Replacement Highway Planting on Highway 92
in Alameda County in Hayward from 0.1 Mile West of Industrial Boulevard
undercrossing to Hesperian Boulevard overcrossing.

District-County-Route-Post Mile: 04-Ala-92-R5.1/R5.8


This project bids Wednesday September 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm.
Please submit quotes no later than 10 am on bid day.
With your quote, please include the project number and bid date, and be
sure to provide your name and contact information and if applicable,
your DBE Certification Number.

We request quotes from vendors, particularly Certified DBE vendors who
are manufacturers or regular dealers as defined by 49 CFR 26.55 for all
materials and supplies required for this project.  This includes, but is
not limited to:
PORTABLE CHANGEABLE MESSAGE SIGNS, TEMPORARY COVER, TEMPORARY CHECK DAM,
TEMPORARY DRAINAGE INLET PROTECTION, TEMPORARY FIBER ROLL, TEMPORARY
CONCRETE WASHOUT, ROCK BLANKET, IRON SULFATE, SOIL AMENDMENT,
SLOW-RELEASE FERTILIZER, PLANTS (nurseries), WOOD MULCH, ARMOR-CLAD
WIRE, 8" WELDED STEEL PIPE CONDUIT, DRY SEED, ROLLED EROSION CONTROL
PRODUCT (BLANKET), COMPOST and ALL IRRIGATION MATERIALS for this
project, which includes various valves, wye strainer assemblies,
irrigation controllers and cabinets, backflow preventer assemblies, flow
sensors, various sprinklers and pvc pipe.

We request quotes from service providers and subcontractors,
particularly certified DBEs for work, including, but not limited to the
following bid items:
LEAD COMPLIANCE PLAN, CONSTRUCTION AREA SIGNS, TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEM,
JOB SITE MANAGEMENT, PREPARE STORM WATER POLLUTION PREVENTION PLAN,
STORM WATER ANNUAL REPORT, STREET SWEEPING, ROADSIDE CLEARING, PLANT
ESTABLISHMENT WORK, CERTIFY EXISTING BACKFLOW PREVENTERS, VEGETATION
CONTROL (ASPHALT COMPOSITE), MAINTAINING EXISTING TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT
SYSTEM ELEMENTS DURING CONSTRUCTION, ELECTRIC SERVICE (IRRIGATION),

We will consider quotes for any work on this project, including work we
traditionally perform with our own forces - to insure DBE participation.


We will work with interested Subcontractors to identify further
opportunities to break bid items down into economically feasible units.
