General work description: This project consists of the rehabilitation of 29.3 miles of Interstate 10 in Riverside County from the SR 177 Junction to Wiley’s Well Road, (PM R 104.9-R 134.2 Segment 2, 117.2 lane miles).  The scope of work primarily consists of traffic control, earthwork, drainage, aggregate base, cold planning, HMA pavements, jointed plain concrete pavement (JPCP), continuously reinforced concrete pavement (CRCP), and bridge widenings, along with other safety upgrades.  Associated guardrail, striping, signage, erosion control, and electrical is also included.

This project has a 11% DBE goal.  In addition to request for participation from Certified DBE subcontractors and suppliers, Granite requests Non-DBE subcontractors to provide lower-tier DBE subcontractor and/or supplier participation. Bidders are encouraged to indicate lower-tier DBE participation, as it will be evaluated as part of their quote.

Granite Construction Company is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Cement Masons Teamsters and Carpenters unions.  Granite may require 100% performance and payment bonds for the full amount of subcontract price.  Granite Construction will assist with bonding costs for subcontractors. Additionally, The US Small Business Administration may also assist you in obtaining bonding, for more information please visit them at http://www.sba.gov/content/contractors#.  Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement.  A copy of the insurance requirements and subcontract agreement are available upon request.  The full agreement can be obtained by contacting Granite. Subcontractors must also be registered with a current DIR number.
