GENERAL WORK DESCRIPTION: site, civil and structural improvements to the existing BART Hayward Rail Storage Yard and to undeveloped land located north of the BART rail storage rack and east of the BART mainline tracks. Site and civil improvements, include, but are not limited to, the following : installing limit of work barrier fencing, installing ESA fencing , demolition , removal and disposal of existing utilities, buildings, pavement and other facilities, clearing and grubbing, constructing retaining walls, installing sanitary sewer mains, installing storm drain system, construction of a paved roadway, grading, installing security fencing, earthwork, installing bioretention facilities , utility work and constructing pedestrian/cart overpass foundations.

Granite Construction Company (Granite) is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms for the following items of work, including but not limited to: Asphalt Supplier; Pilings Supplier; Steel Supplier; Drainage Systems Supplier; Construction Staking; Clearing & Grubbing; Structure Excavation; Structure Backfill; Highway Planting; Temp Erosion Control; Landscape Maintenance; Aggregate Subbase; Aggregate Base; Cast-In-Drilled-Hole Concrete Piling; Concrete Structure; Reinforcing Steel; Reinforced Concrete Pipe; Plastic Pipe; Reinforced Concrete Sewer Pipe; Sewer Manhole; Concrete Curb & Sidewalk-Misc.; Directional Boring/Drilling; Fencing; Temporary Fencing; Materials Testing; Service; Super 10 Dump Truck; Hazardous Substance Removal; Hazardous Waste Trucking; Trucker Broker; Sewer Connection; Construction Staking (Survey); Laboratory Testing And Analysis

Granite Construction Company (Granite) is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of subcontract price.

Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreement can be obtained by contacting the estimator.
