• Construction of 26 BRT station platforms, canopies, and appurtenances at 13 locations. Station types include sidewalk stations, bulb-out stations, and island stations.
• Station work may include: concrete bus pad installation; limited street reconstruction; construction of curbs, gutters, and sidewalks; installation of canopies, landscaping, street lighting, street furniture, and other amenities; and Utility relocations, including storm drain, sewer, gas, power, and communication systems.
• The proposed Athens BRT Station will be located on the Interstate 105 overpass bridge where entrances for the existing Vermont/Athens Metro C Line Station exist on both sides of the sidewalk. Subject to Final Design, the Project may include modification of the existing entrance structures to the C Line on either side of Vermont Avenue to incorporate a BRT station canopy design.
• Restriping to repurpose existing parking or travel lanes to dedicated bus lanes.
• Curb and gutter, pedestrian ramps and sidewalk construction as required to accommodate VTC BRT project improvements.
• Pavement rehabilitation or reconstruction as required along alignment based on pavement condition report to be prepared by the PS&E Designer and in accordance with the applicable Third Party Requirements.
• Replace or reconfigure traffic signal systems as required.
• Signage as required.
• Sidewalk and station landscaping.
• Existing trees removed to accommodate project improvements shall be replaced in accordance with applicable Third Party Requirements.
• Reconfigure and restripe existing bicycle lanes as required to accommodate VTC BRT project improvements.

Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Griffith’s requirements.
