Granite Construction Company requests subquotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms performing commercially useful function for the following items of work, including but not limited to: Construction Area Signs, Traffic Control System, Clearing & Grubbing, Roadway Excavation, Aggregate Base, Asphalt Concrete (Place), Ac Dike And Misc Paving, Groove & Grind Pavement, Minor Concrete Structure, Roadside Sign, Corrugated Metal Pipe (CSP), Downdrain, Plastic Pipe, Concrete Curb & Sidewalk-Misc, Misc Iron & Steel Frame, Cover & Grate, Fencing, Temporary Fencing, Metal Beam Guard Railing, Tack Coat, Metal Railing, Thermoplastic Traffic Stripe & Marking, Painted Traffic Stripe & Marking, Pavement Marking, Signal & Lighting, Signals, Lighting, Surveyor, Environmental – Acoustic/Noise Studies, Lead Compliance, Swppp Planning, Street Sweeping Truck, Trucker Broker.
Including items of work normally performed by Granite. Quotations will be broken down into comparable packages as reasonably necessary. Granite will work with interested DBE subcontractors to identifyopportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages.
Requirements: No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work with the Dept of Industrial Relations https://efiling.dir.ca.gov/PWCR/Search.action Granite Construction Company (Granite) is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of subcontract price. Bonding assistance is available.The US Small Business Administration may also assist you in obtaining bonding - please see the following site for information: http://www.sba.gov/content/contractors# Subcontractors must possess a current contractors license, insurance and workers compensation coverage meeting Granite's requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreement can be obtained by contacting the estimator. For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015 and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, the following registration requirements apply: Every Subcontractor is required to be registered toperform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Public Contract Code (Section 1725.5). No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal pursuant to Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. No bid shall be accepted nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the Subcontractors current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.
Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement.
