General work description: The Project involves construction of a new approximately 10,000 square feet canopied direct potable reuse (DPR) demonstration facility to facilitate pilot- and demonstration-scale testing for evaluation of various DPR process train alternatives for regulatory acceptance as shown in Figure 6-2 from the Conceptual Design Report in Attachment C. In addition, the testing facility will facilitate collection of operational data for purpose process optimization and development of the future full-scaleDPR facility. The Project will also involve site improvements to support long-term operation and testing; including installation of new motor control center (MCC) building, upgrade of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and information technology (IT) hardware/software equipment, upgrades and modifications to the existing utilities (water, sewer, electrical, communication), additional field offices equipped with office furniture and lab equipment, and modifications to the existing indirect potable reuse (IPR) demonstration facility to enhance safety and operation for long term basis.
Scopes of work requested, but not limited to: Pipe supply (PVC), pipe supply (steel/ductile iron), pipe supply (CMLC), pipe supply (HDPE), pipe supply (stainless steel), precast supply, underground ground pipe/utility sub, pothole sub, minor concrete structures sub, misc. iron and steel furnish, AC paving sub, aggregate supply, demolition sub, demolition core and saw sub (hourly), temporary fence supply, flatwork sub, trench drain and grate, street sweeper, SWPPP/erosion control supply, concrete washouts, trucking sub, misc. metal sub, misc. metal supply, FRP/composites supply, roof specialties supply, reinforcing steel sub, lumber supply, HVAC sub, plumbing sub, mechanical sub, pump supply, valves – non-plastic, pipe supports, strainers and filters, pipe insulation, doors sub, roofing sub, sheet metal/metal roof sub, structural steel (architectural) sub and supply, precast supply, steel truss supply (cold-formed), welding sub, rental equipment supply, electrical sub, QA/QC sub, survey sub, and office trailer supply.
Myers-Shimmick a Joint Venture will conduct itself in good faith with all firms participating in this project. Items of work may be broken down into economically feasible packages to encourage SBE/VOB/DVBE/LSA/MBE & WBE participation.
Myers-Shimmick a Joint Venture requests that Non-SBE subcontractors provide lower-tier SBE participation. Bidders are requested to indicate any lower-tier participation information so it can be evaluated as part of their quote.

CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS: Labor Code Section 1771.1 (a) A contractor or subcontractor shall not be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal, subject to the requirements of Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, as defined in this chapter, unless currently registered and qualified to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. It is not a violation of this section for an unregistered contractor to submit a bid that is authorized by Section 7029.1 of the Business and Professions Code or by Section 10164 or 20103.5 of the Public Contract Code, provided the contractor is registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 at the time the contract is awarded.
Bids submitted will confirm the acceptance of the terms and conditions of SCCI’s Standard Long Form Subcontract or Purchase Order, available upon request. A Subcontractor/Supplier providing a proposed bid/price will be viewed as accepting SCCI’s Standard Long Form Subcontract or Purchase Order- 100% Performance and Payment bonds are required for subcontractors; material bonds are required from all suppliers. Myers-Shimmick, a Joint Venture will pay bond premium up to 2%. Subcontractors/Suppliers will be required to abide by terms and conditions of the AGC Master Labor Agreements. All proposers are bound by the prime contract terms and conditions, including payment provisions. Insurance coverage is required as set by the prime contract and/or Myers-Shimmick a Joint Venture – whichever is greatest. Minimum insurance requirements: General Liability $1M-Per Occurrence/$2M-Agg/$2M-Completed Operations; Excess Liability $5M; Auto Liability $1M; Workers Comp & Employer Liability $1M. Project specific insurance requirements are provided in detail the Special Conditions. The listing of a Subcontractor/Supplier is not to be construed as an acceptance of all the conditions or exceptions included with the price quote. Shimmick requires that Subcontractor & Supplier price quotes be provided at a reasonable time prior to the bid deadline to enable a complete evaluation.
