Project Owner: VTA, Widening of US 101 SB to SR 87 SB Connector Ramp

General work description: At Location 1, the Project will widen the existing connector ramp to provide two standard 12-foot mixed flow lanes with standard inside and outside shoulders. The improvements involve restriping, pavement widening, reconstructing a lined trapezoidal ditch, and installing a new Traffic Monitoring System (TMS).
At Location 2, the Project will widen the existing diagonal on-ramp to add a standard 12-foot High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane. The Project will also re-stripe the adjacent Collector-Distributor (C-D) to Southbound US-101 to provide a standard 12-foot HOV lane. The improvements involve restriping, pavement widening, extending a reinforced concrete box culvert, and installing new ramp metering systems.

The DBE Contract goal is 14.31 percent.
The estimated cost of the project is in the range of $4.2 to $4.7 million.

Granite Construction Company (Granite) is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of subcontract price. Granite will pay for bond premium up to 1.5%. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreement can be obtained by contacting the estimator. Please call if you need assistance in obtaining bonding, insurance, equipment, materials and/or supplies. Granite intends to work cooperatively with all qualified firms seeking work on this project.
