General work description: Pennsylvania Avenue Rehabilitation Project - Selective removal and repair of broken and damaged sidewalk, curbs, cross gutters, alley and driveway aprons, curb ramps, remodeling of curb drains, modification of CB, selective mill and overlay of asphalt, repair of damaged sewer, modification of traffic signals, and new pavement marking
DBE Goal: 10%
Qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms are asked to submit quotes for all bid items including but not limited to those in conjunction with Caltrans work classification codes:C0624 Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants Supplier and C0639 Asphalt Supplier, C0651 Concrete & Cement Supplier, C1200 Construction Area Signs, C1201 Traffic Control System, C1531 Plane Asphalt Concrete, C5620 Roadside Sign, C7301 Concrete Curb & Sidewalk – Misc, C7602 Saw Cutting, C8405 Thermoplastic Traffic Striping & Marking, C8602 Signal & Lighting, C8608 Detector, C9609 Street Sweeping Truck, C9826 Land Surveying, C9867 Landscaping Contractor
Quotations will be broken down into comparable packages as reasonably necessary. Granite will work with interested subcontractors to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages.
Requirements:Granite is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, and Carpenters Unions. 100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of the subcontract price. Granite may assist with the bond premium up to 1.5%. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreements can be obtained by contacting the Estimator.

For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015 and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, the following registration requirements apply: Every Subcontractor is required to be registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Public Contract Code (“Section 1725.5”). No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal pursuant to Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. No bid shall be accepted nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the Subcontractor’s current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.
