Project Description: This is a design-build (DB) project in includes the design and construction of the Michelson Laboratory Room 19-1867 wings 2-5 repairs, at NAWS China Lake and all related labor, equipment, and materials to provide design and construction, including bond costs, overhead, and profit, complete in accordance with the RFP or specified under any other bid items. Scope features a complete renovation and adaptive reuse of Wing 2, the corresponding basements, and the two-story central spine, demolition North Tower third, fourth, and fifth floors down to second floor roof level, South Tower third floor renovated at the Michelson Laboratory Building 00005, to repair structural damages caused by the July 2019 earthquakes, and to relocate various user groups into consolidated spaces within the Wings.

For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015 and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, the following registration requirements apply:  Every Subcontractor is required to be registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Public Contract Code (“Section 1725.5”).  No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal pursuant to Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.  No bid shall be accepted nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the Subcontractor’s current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.
