NOTICE INVITING BIDS
ONTARIO-MONTCLAIR SCHOOL DISTRICT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Ontario-Montclair School District, acting by and through its Governing Board, hereinafter referred to as “District”, will receive prior to 10:00am on July 26, 2018 sealed bids for the award
of a Contract for the following:
VERNON MIDDLE SCHOOL
HEALTH AND LEARNING CENTER Bid No. C-189-024, Project K002
All bids shall be made and presented only on the forms presented by the District. Bids shall be received in the Office of the District at 950 West D Street Ontario, CA 91762, and shall be opened and publicly read aloud at the above state time and place. Any bids received after the time specified above or after any extensions due to material changes shall be returned unopened. The Contract Time is 365 days. CONTRACTOR should consult the General Conditions, Supplementary Conditions, and General Requirements regarding Milestones and Liquidated Damages.
Prequalification of Bidders
As a condition of submitting a bid for this Project, and in accordance with California Public Contract Code section 20111.6, prospective bidders are required to submit to the District a completed set of prequalification documents on forms provided by the District. These documents will be the basis for determining which bidders are qualified to bid on this Project. The District is requiring that all Trade Contractors holding A, General Engineering, B, General Building License and all electrical, mechanical or plumbing contrac- tors holding a C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43, or C-46 license bidding or subcontracting for District project must be pre-qualified by this District.
Bids will not be accepted if a Trade Contractor has not been prequalified where prequalification is required. Prequalification documents are available from the Ontario-Montclair School District Website at http://www.omsd.net/departments/business_serv- ices/purchasing, and at 950 West D Street, Ontario, CA 91762, (909) 418-6473. Prequalification documents must be submitted by July 10, 2018. Trade Contractors will be notified by telephone, fax or by mail of their prequalification rating within a reasonable period of time after submission of their prequalification documents, but not less than five business days prior to the bid opening date.
If this Project includes work that will be performed by mechanical, electrical or plumbing (“MEP”) subcontractors (contractors that hold C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38, C-42, C-43 or
C-46 licenses), such MEP subcontractors must also be prequalified. A list of prequalified MEP subcon- tractors will be made available by the District to all bidders at least five business days prior to the bid opening date. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure that all MEP subcontractors holding any of the licenses listed above are properly prequalified before submitting a bid. This prequalification requirement applies even if the subcontractor will perform, or is designated to perform, work that does not require one of the licenses listed above, but the subcontractor holds one of the licenses listed above.
