General work description: The project is a taxilane and apron rehabilitation on the north side of the Airport. The apron area to be rehabilitated is an asphalt section approximately 14,400 square yards in size and the taxilane area is approximately 15,400 square yards. Some underground utility work and airfield electrical work are included as well. This is an airside project, with all improvements within the secure perimeter of the Airport.
Scopes of Work Requested, but not limited to the following:
- Temporary and Permanent Barricades, fencing, lighting, signage, and markings,Temporary drainage, erosion control and SWPPP,Construction survey and stakeout,Asphalt pavement removal,Selective concrete pavement removal,Grading areas to new subgrade elevations,Modification of storm drain inlets and pipes,Installation of new storm drains,Embankment, subbase, and base placement for taxilane and apron improvements,Asphalt base and surface course paving,Taxilane edge light modifications,Removal and placement of pavement markings,Temporary perimeter fence,Trucking,Concrete ,Aggregates,Rebar,Misc Metals & QC Testing.
Including items of work normally performed by Walsh Construction. Quotations will be broken down into comparable packages as reasonably necessary. Walsh Construction will work with interested DBE subcontractors to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages
For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015 and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, the following registration requirements apply: Every Subcontractor is required to be registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5 of the Public Contract Code (“Section 1725.5”). No Contractor or Subcontractor shall be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal pursuant to Section 4104 of the Public Contract Code, or engage in the performance of any contract for public work, unless currently registered to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5. No bid shall be accepted nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the Subcontractor’s current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5
Performance and Payment Bonds may be required for this project. Walsh Construction will assist Subcontractors in obtaining Bonds, Lines of Credit and Insurance if requested.
