The PROJECT is located on Montebello Boulevard in the City of Montebello within the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) Los Angeles Subdivision at milepost (MP) 8.30 to milepost 8.92. The Grade Separation is between Mines Avenue to the South and Whittier Boulevard to the North. Montebello Boulevard will be lowered beneath the UPRR Railroad.

Guy F. Atkinson Construction, LLC is a union contractor and an Equal Opportunity Employer.  Atkinson is signatory to the Carpenters, Cement Masons, Laborers and Operating Engineers Unions. 100% Performance & Payment Bonds from an approved surety company will be required for subcontractors with contract value greater than $100,000.  Atkinson will pay the cost of bonds up to 2.0%.  Atkinson will assist in obtaining necessary equipment, supplies, materials or related services.  We will split items of work (see project specs for full list of bid items) and provide assistance for bonding, LOC and insurance where needed.  Subcontractors will be expected to sign Atkinson's standard subcontract and to comply with our company's standard insurance requirements which include a waiver of subrogation.  Please provide contractor's license number, Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) registration number and SBE cert # (DGS, Caltrans, CUPC, City of LA, LACMTA, SBA, LAUSD, MWD, or LACOCCC) with your quote.

The grade separation is between Mines Avenue to the South and Whittier Boulevard to the North. Montebello Boulevard will be lowered beneath the UPRR Railroad. The project work includes the construction of typical street features such as curb, gutter, sidewalk, roadway structural sections, landscape and irrigation, and site and private property improvements; the demolition of buildings; bridge construction including demolition and excavation for underpass bridge substructure elements, construction of CIDH piles, abutments, abutment caps, columns, column bent, steel girder bridge with concrete fascia, and earth retaining structures; construction of a pump station and storm drain improvements, modifications, and relocations; grading and preparing the site within the UPRR right-of-way and constructing shoofly tracks, drainage facilities, sewer crossing, relocation of utilities; installation of a new traffic signals, installation of street, bridge, and parking lot lighting, signing and striping, water main, and protection, modification, and/or relocation of existing dry and wet utilities. Temporary work consists of shoring, excavation support systems, and traffic control.
