General Work Description: The existing Bermuda Avenue beach access stairway provides access to the Bermuda Beach in South Ocean Beach at the western terminus of Bermuda Avenue. It has deteriorated after years of service in the erosive coastal environment. The stairway shows cracking, corrosion, and spalling. The project scope is to replace the existing access stairway that has failed at the middle flight and the supporting foundation block. The scope is to replace the existing with a new stairway and will generally follow the existing stairway. The new stairway consists of a concrete block stair founded in rock at the lowest flight and the upper two flights will comprise of stainless-steel stringers with redwood planks and intermediate concrete landings supported on pile foundations.

Granite is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers, including certified SLBE-ELBE firms, for ALL bid items including those in conjunction with NAICS codes:

Quotations will be broken down into comparable packages as reasonably necessary.  Granite will work with interested subcontractors to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages.

Requirements:  Granite is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, and Carpenters Unions.  100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of the subcontract price.  Granite may assist with the bond premium up to 1%.  Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement.  A copy of the insurance requirements and agreements can be obtained by contacting the Estimator.
