Project: East of Hills Facilities Demolitions and Improvements
Owner: East Bay Municipal Utility District

General work description: At Grizzly Reservoir in Lafayette: demolition and removal of the existing 5.0-million-gallon steel tank, valve pit, piping, electrical, and associated scope; construction of two new 1.3-million-gallon steel tank reservoirs, Grizzly Reservoirs No. 1 and No. 2 including reinforced concrete foundations, tank shells, aluminum dome roofs, new PG&E service, electrical power improvements and piping; • At Castle Hill Reservoir in Walnut Creek: demolition of the existing 3.0-million-gallon steel tank, valve pit, piping, electrical, and associated scope, and construction of the Castle Hill Regulator including reinforced concrete foundation, housing structure, piping, and electrical; • At Knife No. 1 and Wiedemann No. 1 Reservoirs at Cliffecastle Court in San Ramon: blast and recoat the interior of the existing 0.2- and 0.3-million-gallon steel tanks, and replacement of cathodic protection systems; • At Crest Radio Site, Crest Pumping Plant, and Castle Crest Road & Sydney Drive in Alamo and Walnut Creek: demolition of the facilities including 0.1-million-gallon redwood tank, 0.1- and 0.4-million-gallon-per-day pumping plants, and a 3,000-gallon pressure vessel; salvaging redwood boards and equipment; construction of site improvements and roadway restoration; • At Danville Reservoir in Danville: installation of carbon adsorption units and ventilation system improvements at the 12.2-million-gallon open-cut reservoir; installation of covers to close up wall and roof vents without leaving debris in the reservoir or entering the reservoir; and associated work, located in Contra Costa County, CA Install protected left-turn signal phasing.

We are signatory to both the Carpenters Collective Bargaining Agreement and the Laborers Collective Bargaining Agreement.  Certification of insurance for General Liability and Workers’ Compensation are required.  A Waiver of Subrogation will also be required with all Subcontract Agreements. Subcontractors’ faithful performance and payment bonds in the amount of the subcontract price will be required.  Reasonable market rate bond premium will be reimbursed by Thompson Builders Corporation.

Our estimating department is available for assistance with bonding, lines of credit, insurance, equipment, supplies and/or materials. The Small Business Administration (www.sba.gov ), the California Dept. of General Services (www.dgs.ca.gov) and U.S. Dept. of Transportation Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (www.osdbu.dot.gov ) may also be able to offer financial assistance and/or information regarding insurance and bonding.
