General work description: The construction and installation of an eighteen (18”) inch water transmission pipeline, air release & vacuum valve installations, blow-off valve installations, butterfly valve installations, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe, cement mortar lined and tape wrapped (CMLTW) or epoxy lined and coated (EXLC) steel pipe, PVC bell restraint harness installations, magnetic flow meter installation, cement slurry backfill, compacted aggregate base, cathodic protection system, connection details and miscellaneous appurtenances.

Specialty Construction is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified MBE/WBE/DBE/SBE/SBRA/LSAF/ HUB firms for the following items of work, including but not limited to:Provide SWPPP by QSP, Provide BMP REAP Inspections/Reports and Water sampling & analysis by QSP, Provide BMP materials (silt fence, gravel bags, straw wattles, stabilized entrance, concrete washout, etc.), Truck BMP materials from Vendor to Site, Provide field chemical toilets with wash basins, Provide weekly toilets cleaning and maintenance, Provide temporary office trailers with stairways & seismic tie-downs (monthly rental), Setup office trailers & seismic tie-downs, Provide rental office furniture per specifications, Provide drinking water and dispensers, monthly, Provide hydro-excavation potholing services, Provide 6-wheel drive water trucks (drivers optional) on a monthly rental, Provide ready mix concrete for structures, Provide cement slurry backfill, Provide transit mixers for ready-mix concrete & cement slurry from plant to site, Provide aggregates per specifications (backfill sand, class 2 base, ¾” crushed rock, asphalt concrete), Provide trucking services for aggregates, Provide waterworks materials (PVC pipe, DIP, Steel Cml/C pipe, fittings, valves, blow-offs, ARV’s, flowmeters,  misc), Provide trucking services for water works materials from vendors to site, Provide heavy equipment low bed trucking services (5-axle or 7-axle), Provide heavy equipment low bed trucking services (9-axle), Provide wide load pilot car services, Provide heavy equipment rentals (dozers, excavators, haul trucks, backhoes, loaders), Provide pipeline chlorination/dichlorination services, Provide pipeline markers per specification (carsonite), Provide cathodic protection materials, anodes, test stations, flange insulation kits & rectifiers per specification, Provide professional services for cathodic protection testing, Provide surveying services & construction staking by a licensed PLS, Provide hydroseeding services, Provide hydroseed & mulch per specifications, Provide fencing services and repairs per specifications, Provide concrete boom pumping services, Provide precast vaults, meter boxes & other precast boxes with galvanized steel hatches per details, Provide miscellaneous metal Pipe supports (SS).

Specialty Construction is willing to break down quotes into comparable packages as reasonably necessary. SCI will work with interested MBE/WBE/DBE/SBE/SBRA/LSAF/ HUB firms to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages. Subcontractor/Supplier Requirements: In most cases subcontracts in excess of $50,000 may require 100% performance and payment bonds for the full amount of subcontract price.  SCI will pay for bond premiums up to 2%. Subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Regulations (DIR), possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting SCI and Owner’s requirements. Subcontractors will also be required to sign the standard SCI Subcontract Agreement or Purchase Order as appropriate.  For copies of the insurance requirements, Subcontract Agreement or Purchase Order, please contact Sheri Shamblin. Include with your bid the Time required for Performance of your work and any Delivery Schedules so that we can establish a Flexible Timeframe for your work, however, contract time availability is dictated by the Contract Documents.
