General work description: work to be performed consists of reconstruction of a portion of Via Verdi damaged by the landslide and the construction of a 350-foot-long reinforced concrete box culvert (inside dimensions: 24 feet wide, 19 feet high) in San Pablo Creek to buttress the landslide mass. Work shall include, but is not limited to, clearing and grubbing, temporary diversion/dewatering of the San Pablo Creek channel (on-line construction), demolition of the existing concrete headwall, sidewalks, curb and gutter and other concrete improvements, on-site crushing of demolished concrete for re-use as aggregate in the FDR road reconstruction process, connection to existing concrete culvert, reinforced concrete headwall, and 23 +/- degree reinforced culvert bend, concrete box culvert (span 24’; rise 19’), backfill as required, temporary utility relocation, road reconstruction (FDR), underground utility reconstruction, coordination with all applicable utility companies, drainage inlets, storm drain, curb and gutter, sidewalk, curb ramps, streetlights and electrical connection, fencing, signing, striping, restoration and grading of a portion of the adjacent cemetery property impacted by the project, temporary and permanent erosion control measures, creek bank stabilization measures, revegetation and planting, and related work that is required by the Project Plans

The LBE Contract goal is 25 percent.

The estimated cost of the project is $6,434,120.

Granite Construction Company (Granite) is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of subcontract price. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreement can be obtained by contacting the estimator. Granite intends to work cooperatively with all qualified firms seeking work on this project.
