General work description:  The proposed improvements along Ralston Avenue from Alameda De las Pulgas to South Road consist of bike and pedestrian improvements. Project-wide improvements consist of sidewalk rehabilitation, pavement maintenance prior to restriping, installation of new bikeways, and installation of rectangular rapid flashing beacon. In order to accommodate safer pedestrian Minor tree trimming and potential tree removal (with prior approval from the City) may also be necessary to accommodate certain improvements.

Granite Construction Company (Granite) is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms for the following items of work, including but not limited to: Landscape Services; Tree Services; Asphalt Supplier; Concrete & Cement Supplier; Reinforcing Bar Section; Pavement Markers Supplier; Construction Staking; Traffic Control Supplier; Construction Area Signs; Traffic Flaggers; Pilot Car; Reset, Adjust Roadway Items; Remove Concrete; Temp Erosion Control; Aggregate Base; Seal Coat-Slurry; Asphalt Concrete (Place); Minor Concrete Structure; Concrete Surface Finish; Concrete Curb & Sidewalk-Misc; Misc Iron & Steel Frame, Cover & Grate; Saw Cutting; Temporary Fencing; Remove Striping & Marking; Pavement Marking; Maintain Tms Elements; Signal & Lighting; Swppp Planning; Trucker   ; Laboratory Testing And Analysis

The DBE Contract goal is 12 percent.

The estimated cost of the project is $2,900,000.

Plans and specifications are available at Belmont City Hall, Department of Public Works, One Twin Pines Lane, Suite 385, Belmont, CA for a non-refundable charge of $30 in the form of a check payable to City of Belmont. Granite Construction Company (Granite) is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of subcontract price. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreement can be obtained by contacting the estimator. Please call if you need assistance in obtaining bonding, insurance, equipment, materials and/or supplies. Granite intends to work cooperatively with all qualified firms seeking work on this project.
