Granite Construction is now requesting bids from all qualified subcontractors, material suppliers
and service providers, including DVBE firms performing a commercially useful function, for the
following project:


PROJECT: HWY 101: Santa Barbara (Segment 4E South)


LOCATION: This segment is 0.1-mile South of Olive Mill Road overcrossing to 0.3 mile south of
Cabrillo Boulevard undercrossing in Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara, California. (05-SB-101
PM 10.4/11.1). This is a Caltrans job 05-0N7054 but is not advertised in the Caltrans website.


BACKGROUND:
The HIGHWAY 101: SANTA BARBARA PROJECT- SEGMENT 4E SOUTH project is
the roadway and ramp improvements in Santa Barbara, a part of the five Segments that will
improve the Highway 101 corridor between Carpinteria and Santa Barbara, CA. Granite
Construction has been awarded the Caltrans Preconstruction Services Contract and anticipates a
contract to serve as the General Contractor. Granite is looking for qualified subcontractors and
suppliers to join them in constructing this historic project.

Requirements: Requirements: Granite is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, and
Carpenters Unions. 100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of the subcontract
price. Granite may assist with the bond premium up to 1%. Subcontractors must possess a current
contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Granite’s
requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. All quotes are
subject to the terms of Granite Construction Company’s applicable standard form agreement which are
available to download in the project plan room. Subcontractors must also be registered with a current DIR
number. (No bid shall be accepted, nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the Subcontractor’s
