Bernards is requesting bids for all applicable trades from qualified bidders on the PSUSD—Palm Springs High School Modernization.  This Lease-Leaseback (LLB) project consists of (1) one new practice gymnasium and the modernization of (4) four buildings on an occupied campus. The new practice gymnasium is Type V-B construction, approximately 7,400 Sq. Ft. Fully Sprinklered. The project includes added fire sprinkler systems, upgraded utilities, site work, seismic upgrades and new finishes. The Engineers estimate is approximately 29 million dollars. Construction is scheduled from mid-March 2020 to mid-May 2022

Pre-Qualification: Please note that all mechanical, electrical, plumbing (“MEP”) and sheet metal subcontractors (contractors that hold a C-4, C-7, C-10, C-16, C-20, C-34, C-36, C-38,  C-42, C-43 or C-46 license), must have submitted prequalification applications (link below) at least (10) ten business days prior to bid date and must be approved at least (5) five business days PRIOR to bid date. Subcontractors must comply with general prevailing wage rates (PCC 1720 et seq.).  Under new California law, all subcontractors and sub-tier subcontractors wishing to conduct business with any public entity must be registered and maintain good standing with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) prior to submitting a bid and during performance of the work (Labor Code 1725.5).  Only registered contractors and subcontractors to be awarded public works projects.  Please visit www.dir.ca.gov/Public-Works/PublicWorks.html  for more information and to register. 

Subcontractors must meet the minimum requirements for “skilled labor force availability.”  Refer to California Education Code, Section 81703(c)(2)(F); Labor Code 1777.5; and CCR Title 8, Section 230.1.
