The project upgrades and expands the existing wastewater treatment facility. Work includes demolition of existing pumping, metering, electrical, utility, and piping facilities; sludge removal and rehabilitation or abandonment of existing treatment ponds; construction of new lift and pump stations, equalization facilities, and three percolation beds; and installation of infrastructure for owner-furnished treatment equipment. The work also includes a new electrical building, covered vehicle parking, vehicle wash bay, fueling station, roads and paving, sidewalks, landscaping, drainage, fencing and gates, water and fire-service piping, recycled-water piping, and electrical and control systems. Owner-furnished equipment includes headworks, membrane bioreactor, UV disinfection, sludge dewatering equipment, and generators.

Specialty Construction is willing to break down quotes into comparable packages as reasonably necessary. SCI will work with interested Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE), Minority Business Enterprises (MBE), Women Business Enterprises (WBE), Small Business Enterprises (SBE), and Labor Surplus Area Firms to identify opportunities to break down items into economically feasible packages. Subcontractor/Supplier Requirements: In most cases, subcontracts in excess of $50,000 may require 100% performance and payment bonds for the full amount of the subcontract price. SCI will pay for bond premiums up to 2%. Subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and workers’ compensation coverage meeting SCI and Owner’s requirements. Subcontractors will also be required to sign the standard SCI Subcontract Agreement or Purchase Order as appropriate.
