
PRELIMINARY NOTICE
Granite Construction is now requesting bids from all qualified subcontractors, material suppliers and service
providers, including DBE firms performing a commercially useful function, for the following project:
The HIGHWAY 101: MONTECITO- SEGMENT 4E NORTH completes the gap on the U.S. 101 with 16 miles of continuous HOV lanes. This project reconstructs the Cabrillo Boulevard Interchange with new bridges and ramp improvements in Santa Barbara, CA. Granite Construction has been awarded the Caltrans Preconstruction Services Contract and anticipates a contract to serve as the General Contractor. Granite is looking for qualified subcontractors and suppliers to join them in constructing this final corridor mainline segment.

PROJECT LOCATION:In Santa Barbara County in and near Santa Barbara from 0.3 Mile South of Cabrillo Boulevard undercrossing to .5 mile west of Cabrillo Boulevard (05-SB-101 PM 11.1/12.3).

Requirements: Granite is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, and
Carpenters Unions. 100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of the subcontract
price. Granite may assist with the bond premium up to 1%. Subcontractors must possess a current
contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Granite’s
requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. All quotes are
subject to the terms of Granite Construction Company’s applicable standard form agreement which is
available in the plan room under General Documents. Subcontractors must also be registered with a current
DIR number. (No bid shall be accepted, nor any subcontract entered into without proof of the
Subcontractor’s current registration to perform public work pursuant to Section 1725.5.)
