is seeking DBEs Qualified Sub-Contractors on the following Project
Project Owner: County of Alameda - Foothill Boulevard Pavement Rehabilitation
Bid Date 6-29-01 at 2:00 PM.
General work description: The Project consists of providing a traffic control system and construction area signs; water pollution control work; clearing and grubbing; cold planning AC pavement, replacing sections of failed AC surfacing; placing 2-inches of hot mix asphalt pavement; constructing new curb ramps and removing and replacing existing curb ramps; modifying existing drop inlets; reconstructing existing drop inlets; installing new striping and pavement markings; and cleaning of the site at the end of the job.
Granite Construction Company (Granite) is requesting quotes from all qualified subcontractors and suppliers including certified DBE firms for the following items of work, including but not limited to: Tree Services; Asphalt Supplier; Concrete & Cement Supplier; Drainage Systems Supplier; Storm Water Systems Supplier; Pavement Markers Supplier; Electrical & Signals Supplier; Construction Staking; Traffic Control Supplier; Traffic Control System; Traffic Flaggers; Reset, Adjust Roadway Items; Plane Asphalt Concrete; Remove Concrete; Structure Excavation; Structure Backfill; Aggregate Base; Penetration Treatment & Prime Coat (Tack Coat); Minor Concrete Structure; Concrete Curb & Sidewalk-Misc; Saw Cutting; Survey Or Historical Monument; Thermoplastic Traffic Stripe & Marking; Painted Traffic Stripe & Marking; Remove Striping & Marking; Pavement Marking; Signal & Lighting; Surveyor; Swppp Planning; Super 10 Dump Truck; Street Sweeping Truck; Hazardous Waste Trucking; Trucker Broker; Trucker; Constr Staking (Survey)
The DBE Contract goal is 17 percent.
The estimated cost of the project is $4,860,000.

Granite Construction Company (Granite) is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons and Carpenters unions. 100% performance and payment bonds may be required for the full amount of subcontract price. Granite will pay for bond premium up to 1.5%. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation coverage meeting Granite’s requirements and will be required to sign the standard Granite Subcontract Agreement. A copy of the insurance requirements and agreement can be obtained by contacting the estimator. Please call if you need assistance in obtaining bonding, insurance, equipment, materials and/or supplies. Granite intends to work cooperatively with all qualified firms seeking work on this project.
