General work description: The base bid generally consists of the de-channelization and restoration of a portion of Chollas Creek, including concrete channel and bridge removal; installation of a gravity block retaining wall; construction of a natural stone channel; construction of a headwall and junction structure; and construction of maintenance access ramps to the channel. Alternate items include the construction of trail; construction of curb ramps, curb, gutter, and sidewalk; landscaping and irrigation; and play and exercise equipment installation. Work is within the City of San Diego and Caltrans rights-of-way. The work to be constructed is within and adjacent to the Chollas Creek Channel along Federal Boulevard between Home Avenue and the I-805 and SR-94 interchange.

Griffith Company can provide assistance for SLBE-ELBE firms in obtaining bonding, lines of credit or insurance.

Requirements: Griffith Company is signatory to Operating Engineers, Laborers, Teamsters, Cement Masons, and Carpenters Unions. 100% performance and payment bonds required for the full amount of the subcontract price. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor’s license, insurance and worker’s compensation insurance coverage meeting Griffith’s requirements.
